Eric Bell is a bicultural information designer who is interested in systems of people and information. He recently finished up stints at the Seattle agency ZAAZ and as Japanese interaction designer with Microsoft's posh Windows Phone 7 design studio. Raised by Texan Quakers, Eric grew up, lived and worked in Japan and studied in northern Europe. He spends time trying to understand systems, wondering whether he'll ever actually employ ontologies, and considering the idea of facilitated serendipity.
Currently Eric is working at Concent, a communications design agency in Tokyo.

In his graduate studies he has designed a mobile device for 2020, used XML to structure bits of his resume, written part of a textbook on change management, and wrestled with the construction of taxonomies in Synaptica. As an undergrad he led a student-run department of Oberlin College, founded and fostered a cinema club to independence, and honed a 158 bowling average while studying Philosophy and Japanese.
In his spare time Eric has served as clerk of business meetings at a nationwide Quaker gathering, attained the rank of 2nd degree blackbelt in kyudo, and coined a word. Eric likes to parse semantics and concept models, read about knowledge management, and organize stuff.
